Cork is a natural and renewable material. It’s harvested from the bark of cork oak trees, which are native to Spain, Portugal, Tunisia and Italy. It’s gained popularity for having multiple uses in which we created eyewear because of its durability, beauty, “green” qualities and other unique characteristics.

Durable & Comfortable02.

Cork is extremely durable. It resists cracking and abrasions and when properly maintained, cork eyewear can last years. Cork is also comfortable. Each frame by cork eyewear provides a comfortable cushion feel because it “gives” when compressed.

Cork has little negative impact on the environment. A tree must be at least 25 years old before its bark can be harvested; after that, cork can be harvested every eight to 14 years.  With sustainable harvesting practices, cork trees can live up to 800 years.
